Nairn is the perfect base to explore the Highlands

Beautiful sandy beaches are minutes away with West beach just over the golf course, central beach with its cafes, play area and showground just a short walk away and Nairn Harbour and East Beach just a little bit further. All set amongst the wonderful landscape of the Moray Firth, famous for it’s dolphins. Nairn plays host to a number of events and festivals throughout the year including the Nairn Highland Games, Book & Arts Festival and The Nairnshire Farmers Show. For local culture, close by is Culloden Battlefield, Fort George, Cawdor Castle, Brodie Castle, Urquhart Castle on Loch Ness and the city of Inverness and Elgin. A bit further afield are Dunrobin Castle, Balmoral Castle and the Speyside distilleries and much more, all within an easy day trip from Nairn.

Nairn is also perfect place for outdoor activities such as walking, off-road cycling, fishing on the Rivers Nairn or Findhorn, rafting or kayaking on the Findhorn. Culbin Forest is a few miles away with long walks and superb bird watching.  The Cairngorm National Park is only a 30 minute drive from Nairn and offers a multitude of activities including hill walking and snowsports. The Moray Coast is also worth exploring with beautiful beaches, cliff walks and traditional fishing villages.
